Suppliers of thousands
of electrical products to the general public, Be-direct need to keep track
of current supplier costs and ensure selling prices are updated on a regular
basis. The constant processing of different format supplier price lists (over
50) meant a lot of manual data entry and validation.
Operations Director Lee Beynon asked us to investigate automating this process, for which we designed a spreadsheet. This reads in all the different files received and updates one central retail price list which is used by all sales staff as a reference.
Updates are done at the click of a single button - the task now takes hours instead of days and there is far less chance of human error. In addition, BE-Direct now have full visibility of supplier discounts and margins across their entire product range.
